Artisans at the Whitin Mill
Artist Palette
Pam Murphy
Artist Palette, owned by artist Pam Murphy, is located at 70 Douglas Road, Whitinsville, in the Alternatives' Whitin Mill complex. It opened its doors in October 2008 at the Whitin Mill. Its mission is to bring art awareness to the local community.
Artist Palette offers fine art classes in a safe and fun environment. Classes are offered for school age children to adults. Private and home-school classes, therapeutic art classes and birthday parties are among the many opportunities offered through Artist Palette.
Pam has worked with Alternatives for a number of years collaborating with the organization on several events, from pumpkin carves to craft fairs. More importantly, Pam has taught inclusive classes for years working with many of the individuals served by Alternatives. She, also, has had a number of exhibitions in the Alternatives' Uxbridge Community Gallery.

Cristi Winona Collari
The Bella Luce Art Café is a brand new, creative art center that includes an Art Gallery, Gift Shop, and two working art studio/classrooms; the Creative Arts Studio and Kats Glass Studio. It is located in the historic 1826 Red Brick Mill Building. We are proud to be included in the same mill complex with The Lexi Singh Performance Center, The Aldrich Heritage Gallery, and The Artist Palette Fine Arts Studio.
"Our mission is to create an exciting, unique, contemporary art center environment that supports, encourages and inspires artistic creation, collaboration and education for all ages and abilities, while supporting local artists and artisans in their pursuit to achieve excellence in their craft."
The Art Gallery currently supports eleven accomplished and emerging regional artists in a group show exhibiting a variety of medium. This show will continue to be on display through May 28th with a new exhibit opening on Saturday, June 5th. See the events page on the website for more details on the artists in this show, future exhibits, and up-coming events.
The Gift Shop currently supports over a dozen artists and artisans with more consigning their work every week, so come in often to see what's new! The Gift Shop and Art Gallery hours are Wednesday - Saturday, 1:00 - 6:00 pm, or by chance or appointment. Days/hours are also extended for most events at the Alternatives' Whitin' Mill Complex and for holiday seasons.
The Creative Arts Studio offers classes with artist, Cristi Winona Collari in Book Arts & Decorative Papers, hand printmaking, 2-Design, and more to adults and children ages 11 and older for after school, evening, weekend, summer art camps, and art parties.
The Creative Arts Studio also supports visiting artist, Destiny Green, who teaches weekly, day and evening classes and summer workshops in fine arts to teens and adults. Check out the classes page for current class offerings with both artists.
Kats Glass Studio is owned and operated by glass artist, Kathy Olson (see below), who specializes in Stained Glass Panels, Kiln Formed Glass Jewelry, and other functional glass art. Kathy offers classes for teens and adults in Basic Stained Glass (Copper Foil Technique), and will soon offer classes and workshops in fused glass. Her beautiful work can be purchased upstairs in the Bella Luce Art Café Gift Shop.
