CAMPAIGN UPDATE
The redevelopment of the Whitin Mill will cost $9.1 million, of which $4.2 million is to be raised through the Campaign to Renovate the Whitin Mill. So far we have raised $3.5 million in state grants and in charitable contributions from foundations, corporations and individual donors in response to our current major private gift fundraising effort.
Scott Rossiter, who chairs the Steering Committee for the Capital Campaign, is pleased with the response. "As we bring our Campaign to more and more people, I'm heartened by the generosity we're finding," he says. "People seem to grasp how much of a benefit the restoration of the mill will be for the entire community."
In the public phase of our fundraising effort, headed by Lee Gaudette of Gaudette Insurance, we will be asking members of the Greater Blackstone Valley and Worcester communities, including businesses, vendors and individuals, to join one of our giving societies.
