Volunteering at Alternatives
Everyone has something to share!
We believe that nothing better demonstrates the community’s support of Alternatives’ mission than people coming forward and unselfishly giving of their skills, experience and time. By volunteering at Alternatives, you are helping us build a truly inclusive community – one that values and respects the contributions of all of its citizens.
Why volunteer at Alternatives? Volunteering provides you with an opportunity to use your skills, build new ones, find new friends and gain the satisfaction of knowing that you are truly making a difference in someone’s life. We supply the training and support you need. You supply the enthusiasm and commitment!
Who can volunteer? We welcome the contributions of people of all ages – high school students performing community service, college students fulfilling internship requirements, adults and seniors looking to give back to their communities.
What will I be doing? We offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities throughout the organization and across Central Massachusetts. You may choose to work directly with one or more of the individuals we serve, help organize or run a special event or provide behind the scenes support. No matter what volunteer position you select, you will be making an important contribution. We also have a strong internship program for students interested in human services.
If you are interested in volunteering or interning at Alternatives, even if you are not sure exactly what you would like to do, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator who will be happy to talk with you about the many opportunities available.
